THE COCONUT WASTE PROJECT COMMENCES WITH KICK-OFF MEETINGS WITH LANMMA.

CERATH Development Organization (CDO), The Tree Crops Center (TCC), and the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA) are implementing the Coconut Waste Project funded by the European Union. The project duration is 48 months and the implementation will be led by CERATH Development Organization (CDO).

As part of the initial activities towards the launch and implementation of the project, the project team from CDO met with personnel from LaNMMA in a kick-off meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the project team from CDO to the officials of LaNMMA and give an update of the project as well as discuss the next phase of the project implementation.

In attendance were the MCE of LaNMMA, Hon. Jennifer Dede Afagbedzi, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Kweku Asiedu, the Municipal Planning Officer, Mr. Frederick Asiamah, and the Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Joseph Quacoe. The project team also held discussions with the Municipal Planning Officer and the Municipal Environmental Health Officer from LaNMMA who are designated to be contact persons on the project.

The Coconut Waste Project seeks to achieve a green-circular economy and create livelihood opportunities through value addition to coconut husks waste in the La Nkwantanang Municipal Assembly.
