EU’s Second Verification Visit to the PTF Project

stories

The past week, 14 November–17 November 2022, saw the EU pay a second verification visit to the PTF project sites. The visit, among others, was to gain firsthand accounts of project impacts and interrogate the project’s sustainability measures as the project grinds to a close.

The visit, which started with an office verification, had the EU make a stop at the CERATH office in Accra to receive an overview of the project implementation status. The following days had the EU visit some five project communities: Kesewokan, Abuesi, Ekumpoano, Mumford, and Mankwadze. The EU interacted with the project-facilitated VSLAs, learning groups, and stove host beneficiaries. Additionally, some collaborating institutions — the Shama District Fisheries Commission (FC) and NHIA offices — were engaged.

The visit drew to a close with a debriefing on observations made; the EU gave recommendations to enhance project impacts and sustainability measures.
