To obtain a better understanding of the mango value chain in the project target districts, the Mango Processing Project team has conducted a baseline survey. The survey was carried out in the Shai Osudoku, Lower Manya, and Yilo Krobo districts in Ghana. The baseline survey aimed to assess the prevailing agronomic practices, services, and contract farming arrangements available to mango farmers within the project landscape.

The baseline survey was conducted from August 30 to September 4, 2021, in 33 communities across the three districts. Following this survey, the project team will develop a baseline report which will guide the project implementation.

The Mango Processing Project is partly funded by the King Baudouin Foundation and implemented by AGROPAL and CERATH Developmental Organization. The project is aimed at augmenting the productivity of smallholder mango farmers and upscaling the Ghanaian fresh mango production from the current consumption and sale of fresh fruits to the export of dried fruits.
